MEET DANI



Dani Davis is an Emmy award-winning writer, a Tony-nominated Broadway producer, a critically acclaimed theater director, a television producer, and an entertainment entrepreneur. She brings experience, ingenuity, and a gift for collaboration to the performing arts in both the commercial and nonprofit sectors. Whether directing, producing or writing, Dani is engaged in delivering powerful stories that reach a broad and receptive audience as well as succeed for her collaborators artistically, logistically, and financially.

Dani’s Broadway producing credits include Little Women - The Musical starring Sutton Foster and Maureen McGovern (Tony and Drama Desk noms) and The Lonesome West (4 Tony noms). As Executive Producer for NETworks Theatricals, she produced national and international tours of Little Women - The Musical, Billy Elliot for Working Title Productions and Universal Studios (Helen Hayes Award for Producing), Shrek the musical for DreamWorks, The Wedding Singer for Universal Studios, & Flashdance with Paramount Pictures Productions. She is currently the executive producer of the national and international  tour of the remake of Shrek the Musical for Fifth Estate Entertainment and Round Room Live. For television, Dani created and executive produced the series Girl Starter with Al Roker Productions, which aired on Discovery networks.  In addition, she has created and produced award winning documentary and educational content for the media company Sounds True.

For Sony Classical Records and PBS, Dani wrote the libretto for  (Emmy award), and directed Handel's Messiah Rocks (7 Emmy noms), starring LaChanze, Mig Ayesa, Robert Spencer, Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops. She also directed the national tour. Dani's award-winning regional directing and choreography credits include Mamma Mia, The Full Monty, Xanadu, and shows for the critically acclaimed  UMPO Series: Summer Blockbusters, Jaws at the White Lotus (Provincetown, Fire Island, and Puerto Vallarta), and Rock the Bard. She is the director of Cindy of Arc written by Cynthia Kaplan (Intiman, Baltimore Theater, Philly Fringe, Dixon Place) currently touring, raising money for voting and reproductive rights. She was the choreographer for both the stage production and television special, Kenny Rogers’ Christmas from the Heart (Hallmark Entertainment).

Dani has written and produced several Broadway based benefit recording projects, including The Dreams in You for the 9/11 Fund.  She is a former Broadway, national tour, and regional performer. Dani sits on the board of several organizations serving women and young people, and is a graduate of Duke University. She is the proud mother of two young artists, Noah and Nina, and lives in New York City and on Cape Cod.
